image345345345Edward “Elwood-Woody”Sherman Pendleton, 65, formerly of Central City, and Henderson, KY, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016, 12:23 A.M. at the Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY.

He was born October 20, 1950 in Greenville, KY to  Sherman Pendleton, and MaryBelle Taylor Pendleton who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death, two brothers, Jackie and Donald Wright; four sisters, Brenda Mae Wright, Patricia Frazier, Sharon Drake, and Karen Pendleton.                                                 

He attended the Church Of God In Christ in Central City, KY and was a retiree from AMAX in Southern Illinois and Austin 4 / Peabody Coal Mines in Ohio County. In addition, as a young teenager he worked at the Royal Palm Restaurant, the Central City Theater, Coca Cola Plant, and a janitor at the Central City Elementary School. He loved to put a smile on everyone’s face.

Survivors include; two daughters, La’Sha Marie Smith, Nashville, TN and Valerie Woodfork, Campbellsville, KY; three grandchildren, Lamontez Jerome Smith and Torrean Mishaun Smith, Nashville, TN, Shaquielle Woodfork, Mayfield, KY;  four brothers, Bobby Joe Wright, and James Earl Reynolds, Louisville, KY, Larry (Mary) Pendleton, Sacramento,KY, and Ronnie (Debra) Pendleton, Bowling Green, KY; four sisters, Annetta Ellis, and Wanda Jean Pendleton, Louisville, KY, Wylena Pendleton and Delores “Lois” Saulsberry, Central City, KY; one brother-in-law, Lyn Drake, Louisville, KY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016, 1:00, at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, in Central City, KY. Visitation 9-1 at the church on Wednesday.
