IMG 0769bibbsCENTRAL CITY, Ky. — Leroy Moppins, Jr. 63, born, November 6, 1952 in Greenville, KY, died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Thomas Mid-Town in Nashville, TN.

He was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Central City, KY, worked at Mead Johnson in Evansville, IN, B.F. Goodrich in Louisville, KY, retired from Atlanta Journal Constitution in Atlanta, GA and was an electrician for approx. 40 yrs.

His parents, Leroy Moppins, Sr. and Odell Moppins ; sister, Sandra Meriwether; brother, James Moppins, and aunt, Lucy Taylor, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include one son; Ramon (Barbara) Beard, Louisville, KY; one daughter, Alicia Moppins, Evansville, IN; eight grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; two brothers; Darryl ( Anna) Moppins, and Evan Moppins all of Central City, KY; four sisters, Diann Moppins Central City, KY, Elsie (George) Browning, Greenville, KY, Patricia Moppins, Central City, KY, and Lisa (Richard) Pepper, Central City; two aunts; Virgle Eastwood, Gardena, CA, and Jean White, Compton, CA; a special friend, Karen Crowe, Evansville, IN; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services are 1:00 P.M. May 14, 2016, at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Central City, KY. Visitation from 11-1 until time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in West End Cemetery, Greenville, KY. Rev. Otis L. Cunningham, Officiating. Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
